About Claudia |
According to Claudia, “Being a Mosaicist is a hugely creative and enjoyable experience. Living in North Queensland I am surrounded by so much natural beauty it is hard not to be inspired. There are so many different materials to use, you can be practical or totally outrageous. I love the vibrant colours and the individuality of every cut tile and finished piece.”
Working in stone isn’t strange for Alva Artist Claudia Williams. Her work can have anything from 100’s to 1000s of individual pieces meticulously laid together to form the image required. Claudia has only pursued her art full time for the last 9 years. During this time she has traveled to Ravenna (the cultural home of mosaics) in Italy to study the art of mosaics. Which allowed her to turn professional in the year 2000. Claudia also produces large scale mosaics for inclusion in Public Art projects (including installation). Claudia also enjoys working one on one with Private Commission clients to ensure client satisfaction with finished product.
