Discovering Mosaics Workshops

Discovering Mosaics began after numerous people buying Claudia Williams Mosaic Art asked if she could teach them how to make their own mosaic masterpieces.

Discovering mosaic workshops started in March 2004 at Claudia’s studio in Ayr, North Queensland. The first group consisted of 16 students. Their goal was to complete a small mural, on the way learning some of the different techniques, methods of mosaics.

An added enjoyment was the morning teas that some of the students brought in to classes. All the students produced fantastic work, as you can see by the photos opposite and below

Claudia runs a number of workshops for different skill levels ranging from beginners to advanced. Each skill level produces a different masterpiece e.g. recent intermediate level students produced magnificent lazy Susan's for their dining tables.

The next beginner intermediate and advanced workshops have now begun in the new Alva Beach Studio. Students will be producing a variety of mosaics depending on their own choice. See the Calendar of Workshops page. See the advanced students works and beginner student’s work’s in progress.

Claudia’s students have created mosaic wall plaques, Lazy Susan’s, Breakfast trays. We work with only the best materials such as vitreous glass, mirror and cinca ceramic. Claudia encourages students to “think outside the box” and the results have been stunning. Many projects can be completed in as few as four “sessions”.

In a relaxed and fun environment Claudia’s class size is limited and all students receive quality attention, instruction and guidance. Students are encouraged to create their own mosaic designs within their own time frame.
